Betty Mpologoma

Betty Mpologoma is a Ugandan singer and songwriter  who has been doing music since the year 1999. 

She was born in the central region of the East African country called Uganda in a place called Gomba which at that time was part of Masaka district.

When she was still young, Betty Mpologoma was loved very much by her father to an extent that she was nicknamed   after the Queen of England who is called Queen Elizabeth and since she was born  among the members of the ruling clan this did make sense and therefore she is commonly called a princess.

Her name Mpologoma literally means Lion in the local language spoken in the Central region of Uganda called Luganda by the people of Buganda.

 Betty Mpologoma started attending school while in her home village in Gomba and that is where she was able to complete her primary school education.

After completing her primary school education, she joined Gombe Senior Secondary School which is found in Kampala for her secondary school education. 

After completing her secondary school education, she decided to join the working environment by looking for some jobs that she  could  do.

During that time, she was able to land a job with the company called Hardware World that is responsible for dealing in building materials like cement, iron bars and many other building materials.

Her job there was to help in offloading cement and other building materials that had been brought or even loading those materials onto the trucks and lorries that could transport them to other destinations for the customers who  bought them.

 While she was working at Hardware world,   a friend of hers took her to the auditions of the Ebonies that was being run by Sam Bagenda and others at their studios called VCL studio productions.

 It was while at the Ebonies that she came to meet a music producer called Dr. Tee with whom they started working by singing and producing music.

One time they held   a show that was attended massively and among that audience was a man called Hon. Kato Lubwama who was able to identify her talent and later on convince her to join his drama group  called Diamond Productions.

 While there, Betty Mpologoma and the group members used to travel to different parts of the country to perform for their fans and time reached when she had to take a break from all the tours that they did make at the time. 

At that time she decided to go solo and started working on her songs that were mostly written by Dr. Tee, who most people say  is actually dating and in a relationship with.

 She has worked on very many songs over the years and some of her songs are as follows, Fasi fasi, Big Deal, Big Daddy and many other songs out there.

 She revealed that her first time to travel out of the country was back in 2005 when she travelled alongside other music artists like Ragga Dee,  Amooti of Amarula Family, Justin Nantumme  and many others to London for a show that was a success. 

She said that during that trip, they had alot of fun on the plane and since it was their first time on board a plane, it was an experience to remember.

According to some reports, Betty Mpologoma is in a serious relationship with Dr. Tee  with whom they are business partners but she has denied this rumour and says that she is still single and not married.

 In 2019, Betty Mpologoma  alongside other  legendary Ugandan music artists like Willy Mukabya, Maddox Sematimba and others organised a show that was massively attended by the crowd of fans that was dubbed "Kikadde".

 Betty Mpologoma is an inspiration to all the aspiring  music artists out there especially the youths in Uganda and girls in particular.

She continues to occassionlly release more songs into the market for her fans.
