The late Harriet Kisakye (Deceased in
2015) born in 1980 to Mr. Musisi Charles
and the late Lillian Namwangye at
Kayunga
Town Council Wakiso District was a Ugandan
female well known recording artist.
Harriet was
a mother to two sons Kiberu
Marvin and Kawooya Shakul unfortunately
in 2016 Kawooya also deceased the
day he picked his report card from school and his death cause is still unknown
until now.
Songs like Gyenvude, Ki Nigeria, Gwe Musumba
Wange made Harriet a very famous and darling loved local musician.
Harriet Kisakye was hospitalized at Mulago
National Referral Hospital for more than two weeks until she was transferred to
International Hospital Kampala (IHK) of Dr. Ian Clarke a former clerk of
Makindye Division.
Dr.Kizza Besigye former leader of Opposition
paryt FDC and Kampala’s Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago are the ones that aided her
transfer to IHK and she was a supporter of FDC and always performed at the
party;s rallies especially during the 2011 presidential elections.
Kisakye died at the age of 35 years old and her
cause of death was due to kidney failure.
She attended St.
Joseph Nansana Primary School and St. Augustine's College Wakiso.
On 25th
April, 2016, she marked her anniversary of her death her family and friends organized
a memorial service at Bunamwaya Church at 4pm to pray for her soul.
