At the renowned Oscars 2024
nominations opening ceremony, Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine, and
his spouse Barbie Kyagulanyi made a spectacular presence, demonstrating their
increasing global prominence.
Bobi Wine's documentary film,
"Bobi Wine: The People's President," was recognized in the
Documentary Feature Film category of the 96th Academy Awards, which led to the
couple's noteworthy attendance at the event.
Only fifteen of the one
hundred and sixty-seven films that were submitted made it to the final round,
according to the Academy. The movie, which was directed by Moses Bwayo and
Christopher and produced by National Geographic Documentary Films, came in
first place.
The shortlist and nominations
were selected in large part by the members of the Documentary Branch, and
voting is expected to start in early January 2024. The six-day voting period
will conclude with the publication of nominations at the end of January.
The Academy said in a
statement that the nominations voting will start on Thursday, January 11, 2024,
and end on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. The 96th Academy Awards nominations will
be revealed on Tuesday, January 23, 2024.
