During his recent music tour
in the United Arab Emirates, the singer, whose real name is Gerald Muwonge,
revealed how a woman he dated years ago broke the news to him. This week, he
was clearly still confused.
"During my tour in Dubai,
a woman came out of nowhere and told me she had my child," the singer said
in a televised interview on Wednesday night.
"She claimed that she had
been searching for me the entire time."
Right now, the girl is in
Primary Seven. In the interview, the artist declared, "She looks exactly
like my son Jeremiah," adding that he was positive she was his biological
child.
The Binyuma Bitya Singer
claims that he sired the girl sometime in 2010 while on a music concert in
Dubai. Manzi wa Nani, one of his songs at the time, was extremely popular.
The fact that he "left
behind some seeds which sprouted," he claims, escaped his awareness.
When asked whether he was
apprehensive about this sudden addition to his family, Clever J replied that he
wasn't too worried because he has always enjoyed lending a hand and looking
after others.
He questioned, "Why would
I hesitate to take my own child home and look after them if I can help someone
I've met on the road?"
Clever's music career had
suffered for ten years, giving him a lot of stress, until his return show,
"Eddogo lyafuluka," in early August.
Due to their financial
difficulties, his wife Sharon Apolot left their Wakiso house, claiming that
their union had reached an intolerable point.
She charged the singer with
drug use, excessive drinking, and having extramarital affairs with other women.
Additionally, Apolot claimed
that Clever J had neglected to cover their two children's tuition.
