After a series of successful rituals, the Busoga Kingdom has crowned Queen Jovia Mutesi.
The royal wedding of William Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV, the Kyabazinga of Busoga, and Queen Mutesi is slated to take place on November 18, 2023, at Christ Cathedral in Jinja City, according to an announcement from the office of the Kingdom's Prime Minister.
The King will formally introduce Queen Mutesi to the Kingdom and the rest of the world during the ceremony.

The announcement says, in part, "It is a historic day for the Busoga people all over the world as I officially announce that we have Her Royal Highness Inhebantu of Busoga following the just concluded traditional ceremonies earlier in the day that were successfully held."
The statement goes on to say that this is a true illustration of how sophisticated our King and Queen are.
King Nadiope revealed the Queen's face to the world in a brief tweet made on social media site X, formerly known as Twitter, by attaching her photograph.
Her Royal Highness Inebantu (Queen of Busoga), Jovia Mutesi, Virtual Portrait Unveiling," he stated.
In Busoga, the position of kyabazingaship is elected. At first, one of the five hereditary chiefs who descended from Bunyoro-Kitara was chosen to be the King. All 11 hereditary chiefs are now eligible to run for Kyabazinga in accordance with a change to the Busoga constitution.
