Sipapa has been incarcerated
for more than a year on charges of money laundering and fraud, among other
offenses.
Although he has been in and
out of court, it doesn't appear like they are prepared to release him on bond.
President Yoweri Museveni has
now received a request from Serena Bata, Sipapa's ex-girlfriend, pleading with
him to save her.
She claims that since the two
had been together for a long time, Sevo should order his release.
"Please come out and save
Sipapa, we ask the President. Since that person has done so much good for him,
he has the ability to chose to use it for them. In part, Serena stated in an interview
with a local station that "Sipapa is also a member of NRM."
Allegations of a heist for 1.6
billion Shilling led to Sipapa's arrest in September 2022.
