According to the singer, the war happened when she was still a small girl, and she remembered clearly that her father was shot to death during the conflict.

Famous stage performer and television personality Ssenga Justine Nantume has shared her experiences from the 1981–1986 Museveni bush conflict.

She tells that her father gave the rebels shelter, which led to his horrifying gunning down. He was fatally shot the moment he was discovered.

When Nantume's father passed away, her family had to flee to the bush, where they found safety, and it was hard for them to eat.

The multi-talented entertainer Justine Nantume explains that they fed on all kinds of insects and bush animals that they landed on.

In her narration, she states that there is no insect or bush animal she has never eaten in her life starting with frogs, snakes, and locusts among many other insects.

Ssenga Justine Nantume notes that she never had the chance to go to school and only studied up to primary four. She says she only joined the school to learn how to write her name and dropped out in primary five.
