Jjokolera Mataali Group

Jjokolera Mataali Group, Number 1 International Uganda, is a renowned Ugandan Mataali ensemble widely celebrated for its captivating performances and contributions to preserving traditional Islamic music and culture. The group was founded in the early 2000s but was later revived by Khalifa Twaha Katende, who also serves as the CEO and visionary leader. Since its inception, Jjokolera Mataali has grown into one of Uganda’s most respected Mataali groups, inspiring audiences with their devotion, discipline, and artistry.

The group is made up of about 15 talented members, including:

Through the years, Jjokolera Mataali Group has built a strong reputation for soul-stirring Mataali performances during religious functions (Like Aqiika, Islamic Wedding ceremonies, Dua performances, and Mauled),  cultural gatherings, and community events across Uganda. Their music carries a deep spiritual message, blending traditional rhythms with heartfelt devotion.

With a legacy spanning over two decades, the group continues to nurture young talent, uphold Islamic cultural values, and spread inspiration through their art. Jjokolera Mataali Group stands as a true symbol of unity, faith, and musical excellence in Uganda.
