Wyk Winz born names Kubula Wycliff
Lukubya is a Ugandan singer and songwriter.
Wyk Winz was born in
Nakabira, Buyende District started singing at school where he also learnt how
to play cricket and miming.
He has nine siblings.
He went to Balawoli
Primary School, Kamuli District for primary then joined Kamuli Progressive
College for both O and A Levels before joining Makerere University
where he's currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and Social
Administration.
He started singing and
writing songs early while in school but considered a career in music seriously
while at High School where he recorded his first hit single Byadala with his school Peers in a
group called White Angels.
The group went on and
released another song entitled Nteleza
before splitting up in 2021.
Wyk then embarked on a solo career and
released his first solo project entitled Weekend.
All his songs have been
recorded by Busoga's Singing Producer Romeo Beats.
He considers his style of
music as Urban R&B.
His inspiration is drawn
from the success of tEast Africa's singing duo Radio and Weasle.
Wyk says that ever since
he went solo, things started changing in his favour and he's planning to hit
the international scene
